Sally Harper Purpose

Sylvia pops out for some last minute shopping for her dinner party, little knowing her life is about to change forever. Frances waits by the phone for her mother's call. A tragedy which claims one life throws two others improbably together. Was this simply a tragic accident or a malicious act of violence? Who suffers most? The Killer? The Victim? Or the one left behind?

Paul Burton Films are currently in pre-production with a new short drama film which is being made in association with Avril Dalziel Saunders.

With a screenplay by Paul Burton – who is also set to produce and direct the film –Broken Promises is based on a short story by author, Avril Dalziel Saunders.

The film is set to be made at Elstree Studios in north London and on location nearby on Monday 20th February 2012. The completed film will then be broadcast later this year as part of a short film strand on the following TV channels: Information TV (Sky 231), Information TV + 1 (Sky 189) and Showcase TV 2 (Sky 203).

The story concerns Jenny who, before she was married, nursed her widowed mother for several years after she was left paralysed and speechless from a stroke. In the film, the character of Chloe Richards recalls the twists and turns of fate that Jenny faced in the year following the death of her mother; and how her attempts to rebuild her life were thwarted when she met her then future husband, Harry Curtis.

Avril Dalziel Saunders Mammogram's Save Lives

I was diagnosed with breast cancer in March 2011. I felt well, had no symptoms, had never smoked, ate a healthy diet and exercised regularly, so how could this be? There was no explanation, it can happen to anyone!

I have written my story in order to raise awareness and encourage every woman between the ages of 50 and 70 to go along for a mammogram. In the UK, the NHS offers this service free to women every three years but sadly 25% do not attend.
