Age UK Runnymede and Spelthorne (Age UK R&S) is a local charity which aims to support local people aged 50+ by delivering a variety of services and activities.

These include:

1. An Information and Advice service that is available to assist with benefit checks, completing forms and providing general information about local services


2. Handyperson and gardening service for those little jobs around the house like minor DIY, fitting key safes or grab rails


3. Road 2 Recovery – Short term practical support after a stay in hospital or recovering from an illness at home


4. Transport – minibuses available for hire by other groups and organisations


5. Home Bathing


6. Befriending - for people with few visitors


7. Social activities and door to door outings programme providing opportunities to get out and about and socialize.  


8. Support4YOU - when support to get out and about is required.  This is a personalized service - Support4YOU which does just that; supports every person individually, enabling an active and fulfilling life.

DAIRS - Disability advice, information for Runnymede and Spelthorne. The service is run by volunteers who all have experience of disability. Provies personal and caring information for people with all types of disability.

A charity providing help to familes in times of need. Run by volunteers who will provide support to familes in need.

A local support group for people of all ages with learning disabilities and their parents and carers

Registered Charity which aims to promote the benefits of complementary therapies and has worked in this field for nearly 30 years. The Charity is run by volunteer healers and former cancer patients on a worldwide basis.

Woking & Sam Beare Hospices are independent charities dedicated to providing specialised end of life care and support to patients and their families living with a life limiting illness in Englefield Green and surrounding areas. As well as providing in-patient care and day care units at both Hospices our community team are vital in providing services over a much wider area of North West Surrey including the Borough of Runnymede.

Although we receive some statutory funding, we rely on the generosity of our local communities to provide over 70% of our running costs, which amounts to over £8.6 million a year.

We are able to provide our services free of charge due to local individuals, groups and companies, who kindly raise funds for us throughout the year. There are many things you can do, large or small to make a difference and we can provide support and advice to make it as simple as possible. If you would like to fundraise for your local hospice, our Community Fundraiser Chiara Cadei would love to hear from you. Whether it’s a sponsored walk, cake sale, raffle, bucket collection or charity sports match, Chiara is here to support you all the way.
