The Village Fair
14th June 2020
Cancelled for 2020
As you will probably be aware, the Village Fair was to take place on the re-scheduled date of Saturday 5th September. However, the Fair committee have come to the reluctant decision that with restrictions as regards Covid-19 and large gatherings, and the many additional safety measures they would have had to seek to put in place, that they have to cancel for 2020. It is such a shame as the event would have given a lift to our village community, as it does each year, and particularly this year, but the decision is fully endorsed by EGVRA.
The good news is that the Fair committee will be booking The Green to run the Village Fair on Saturday 19th June 2021 when it is hoped that it will be possible to hold the event without any of the issues we currently face and give everyone a great day out!

Firstly, we hope you’re fit and well and remain that way during these strange and unusual times.
As you may be aware, we had planned to run our annual Village Fair on Saturday 20th June. However, in view of the current situation with COVID-19 and the Government's guidelines concerning social distancing and large gatherings, we’ve come to the decision that we can no longer run it on that date.
The good news is that we’ve booked the Green to run the Fair on Saturday 5th September instead! Obviously at this stage, this is a provisional date depending on where things stand with COVID-19 nearer the time. We’ll let you know when we know.
In the meantime, please pencil Saturday 5th September in your diary and we can all keep our fingers crossed that we’ll be able to look forward to getting together at last. We hope to see you on 5th September!
I look forward to there being the possibility for us all to meet, enjoy each others’ company and relax at the Village Fair later this year. My sincere thanks go to Sue Stones and her excellent committee for doing all that they can to keep the holding of the Fair viable until as late as sensible in 2020.
May I send my thoughts for you, and those close to you, to remain well and safe as our community, along with the rest of our country, battles with COVID-19.
